Christmas Cookies for the Soldiers
CCClub members baked dozens of cookies in December to send to a troop in Iraq for the holidays. We
often forget that these men and women are out there, while we sit back and enjoy the time with our
families. This is the letter that we received from the Fuels Officer, with a photo of the troops that enjoyed
the baked goodies:

We are excited to announce that in 2007, the Cool Chicks Club raised $6000 for the following local
charities:
- Stand up for Kids
- 3-Day Breast Cancer Awareness Walk
- Operation Smiles
- The Pink Door
In 2008, we will continue seeking Macomb County charities to support and community service where we
can donate our time. Have a local charity or service? Please click here to contact us.
Blankets for the Veterans
We have recently discovered a woman who crochets blankets for the vets. Pat Burns, a CCC member
and contributor, donated a large bag of yarn to support her cause. Thanks Pat!

Sorting Clothes for the Homeless
CCClub members have gathered together at Trinity Lutheran Church in Utica, MI to offer our time to help
in whatever way they need. We hung, folded, and sorted clothing that has been donated and will be used
to help the homeless, shelters, and other organizations that work with these people.
Motown Soup at Trinity
Other CCClub members got together to help by making soup mixes that go to area shelters and soup
kitchens. Major recipients include the Detroit Rescue Mission and the MCREST office.
Our very own Jan Seelinger was
part of the crew that helped out
that day. She is pictured here,
enjoying her day packaging soups
and having fun!
Beers for Boobs!
Sherwood Brewing Company and The Cool Chicks Club teamed up to present a fundraiser for the
Three Day Walk for Breast Cancer. Silent Auction, Dollar Auction, and lots of fun! Pictured below (left) is
Laura Pokas, a CCClub member, with one of her "Step Sister" partners, Kristen. On the right are the BC
BABES that came to support our efforts for the Step Sisters!

Bone Marrow Drive
Cheryl Smith, former CCClub member, was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma and needed a bone
marrow transplant by an unrelated donor. The Cool Chicks Club and ESBI International Salon teamed
up to organize a bone marrow drive in her honor. Many people showed up to get tested, and joined the
national registry for donors.
National Day of Thanks
Jan Seelinger, CCClub member, and ESBI International Salon held their 4th annual National Day of
Thanks in December to honor our active military service men and women and their families. They
offered complimentary haircuts by appointment to those in the area that offer their time and service in
the military!
